Looks like the crew was able to get the egress window shell and insulation put in yesterday. Drain tile is also going in the basement. With all the rain we are getting it will be interesting to see if the sandy soil lets anything into the basement.
The back bedroom and front stoop concrete block has been laid down. You can see where the egress window will be for the fourth bedroom in the basement.
The walls on the first floor are getting taken out and we finalized where the first floor bathroom will be located.
A big thank you to the team that took out the concrete floor in the basement! Apparently the floor was built to withstand earthquakes and laser beams as it was super reinforced with rebar and multiple layers!
You can start to see how the basement will look now that the furnace is out of the basement! Here are some photos of the house now that the excavation has begun!
You can see where the stairs used to be and where the new basement area will be coming out of the house. Looking at these photos, you'd think that we had an earthquake in the basement!
This is one day of jack hammering the floor. Apparently the people that put in the concrete floor wanted to make sure it would stay in place! Kudos to the guys taking this out as it doesn't look easy! |
